We are thrilled to offer Two Unrated Sections and Two Rated Sections.

Unrated Sections

We have 2 unrated sections for players who are new to chess in grades K-4 These sections will not count for USCF rating

Novice 1: Open to Pre-K – 1st Grade students who are Unrated. Students play 4 Rounds. If total round time exceeds 40 minutes, clocks will be provided with 5 minutes per player. Tiebreakers will be used if necessary. Place Trophies for Top 5, participation trophies for all other players. Approximate end time 1:30 PM.
Novice 2: This is a section for 2-4th graders who are new to tournament chess. Students play 4 Rounds. If total round time exceeds 40 minutes, clocks will be provided with 5 minutes per player. Tiebreakers will be used if necessary. Place Trophies for Top 5, participation trophies for all other players. Approximate end time 1:30 PM.

Rated Sections

We have 2 rated sections for competitive tournament players

K-6 Primary U600: G25/d5, 4 Rounds. Open to all current USCF members in grades K-6 who are rated <600 using USCF Regular over the board ratings. Tiebreakers will be used if necessary. Trophies for Top 5, Medals for all other participants.
K-12 Reserve U1000: G25/d5, 4 Rounds. Tiebreakers will be used if necessary. Trophies for Top 5, Medals for all other participants. Open to current USCF members in grades K-8 who are <1000 USCF rated using the higher of USCF Online Regular rating and USCF Regular over the board ratings.
K-12 Championship 900+: This section is open to players in K-12 rated over 900. The time control is g 25 d/5. Trophies will go to the top 5 in this section, medals for everyone else

Booster, Reserve and Primary

Start time - 10:00 AM

Please arrive on site by 9:45 AM. We will begin at 10:00 AM. Each round will begin once all games in the sections have concluded. We will make announcements as to when section pairings are being posted.

Novice Unrated

Start time - 10:00 AM

Please arrive by 9:45 AM. We will be starting promptly at 10:00 AM

Entry Fee and Other Information

Early bird entry fee: $49 by Tuesday before event, regular entry fee: $55

Registration deadline is day before event - We are not accepting on site registrations

There is a $10 fee for section change
