We are thrilled to offer One Unrated Section and THREE Rated Sections.

Unrated Sections

We have 1 unrated section for players who are new to chess in grades K-3 These sections will not count for USCF rating

Novice: Unrated: Open to Pre-K – 3rd Grade students who are Unrated. Students play 4 Rounds. If total round time exceeds 40 minutes, clocks will be provided with 5 minutes per player. Tiebreakers will be used if necessary. Place Trophies for Top 5, participation trophies for all other players. Approximate end time 1:30 PM.

Rated Sections

We have 3 rated sections for competitive tournament players

K-4 Primary U500: G25/d5, 4 Rounds. Open to all current USCF members in grades K-4 who are rated <500 using USCF Regular over the board ratings. Tiebreakers will be used if necessary. Trophies for Top 5, Medals for all other participants.
K-12 Reserve U900: G25/d5, 4 Rounds. Tiebreakers will be used if necessary. Trophies for Top 5, Medals for all other participants. Open to current USCF members in grades K-12 who are <900 USCF rated using the higher of USCF Online Regular rating and USCF Regular over the board ratings.
Championship: 900-1400: This section is now a swiss section. We will have 3 rounds of G 40 with a 5 second delay. First place with a perfect 3-0 score will receive $100 cash prize, otherwise 1st place is $75. 2nd place is $50. Class prize: Top player U1100 (if not in top 2) will receive a $50 cash prize. All other players will receive a medal. If players are tied for a placement, the prize is split evenly among players.

Please arrive on site by 9:45 AM. We will begin at 10:00 AM. Each round will begin once all games in the sections have concluded. We will make announcements as to when section pairings are being posted.

Novice Unrated

Start time - 10:00 AM

Please arrive by 9:45 AM. We will be starting promptly at 10:00 AM

Entry Fee and Other Information

Early bird entry fee: $49 by Tuesday before event, regular entry fee: $55

Registration deadline is day before event - We are not accepting on site registrations

There is a $10 fee for section change
